You can use User Management to remove exemptions from learning path assignments that were originally created through audience group rules. This is useful when a user still belongs to an audience group but no longer needs to be exempt from specific learning. For example, someone who was previously unable to complete a module, or someone on a support plan whose circumstances have changed, may now need the assignment reinstated.
This feature allows you to update exemptions at an individual assignment level without removing the user from their audience group.
How to access exemption settings
Open the Management Console from the top of your homepage
Select User Management from the right-hand-side menu
Search for the user whose assignments you wish to update
Open their account and select Exemptions from the Edit User menu
Understanding exemption options
You will see a full list of learning path assignments that can be exempted.
Assignments already exempted will be ticked
Each exemption will show the reason, who applied it, and the date it was added
How to remove an exemption
Untick the box next to the learning path you want to reinstate
Select Save exemptions
A success message will confirm that your changes have been applied
Once saved, the user will see the assignment appear on their homepage the next time they log in. Admins will also see the assignment return to Management Information reporting, the individual user assignments page, and the My team page.
How deadlines update after removing an exemption
When an exemption is removed, the deadline resets based on the assignment rules.
For example:
If the learning path normally has a 28‑day completion window, the user will receive a new 28‑day deadline starting from today.
