Introduction

Assigning a course to an individual user allows you to tailor training to specific needs, such as onboarding a new hire, providing remedial learning, or delivering role-specific compliance training. You'll need the correct level of admin permissions to complete this process.

Steps to Assign a Course to an Individual User

Follow these steps to assign a course to a user:

  1. Select Manage at the top of the screen.

  2. In the Manage users chart section, select Manage users.

  3. Locate the relevant member of staff and select Manage user.

  4. In the Assignments Dashboard section, select Manage assignments.

  5. Select Add assignments.

  6. Choose the relevant course(s) from the list.

  7. Set the Deadline for completing the course.

  8. Select Continue.

  9. (Optional) Enter a personal message to the user.

  10. Select Add assignments.

Any assigned course will appear on the user's Home page under the Mandatory Banner.

Updating Deadlines and Resetting Completed Records

When assigning courses, you'll see the screen shown below:

From here, you can:

  • Set a new deadline date for the course.

  • Update deadlines for existing assignments (apply a new deadline to courses that have already been assigned).

  • Reset completed training records, requiring users who have already completed the course to retake it.

Tips

  • Double-check your selections before confirming assignments to ensure you don't accidentally reassign courses unnecessarily.

  • Use the Update deadline for existing assignments feature carefully, as it will affect all selected training.

Limitations

Note: You must have the correct level of admin permissions to assign courses. If you don't see the Manage option, contact your system administrator.

Conclusion

You now know how to assign a course to an individual user, update deadlines, and reset completed records.
