Diagnostic assessment and assessment analytics

The Diagnostic Assessment and Assessment Analytics reports are available directly on Reporting, giving you quick access to meaningful insight into learner performance. Having these reporting tools in one central location helps you review assessment activity more efficiently and provides a consistent experience across your reporting options.

What you can do

From Reporting, you can view key assessment information, explore response patterns and download reports using the same familiar tools available across other reporting pages.

Question-level response reporting

You can review how learners responded to each question within an assessment, helping you identify areas where knowledge is strong and where learners may need additional support.

The Question Responses view uses visual performance indicators to make assessment results easier to interpret at a glance. This allows you to quickly identify questions with higher incorrect response rates, spot potentially difficult questions, and understand learner performance without having to manually compare response counts.

For each question, you can see:

  • A visual indicator of the question's performance

  • The Question ID

  • The correct and incorrect answer options selected by learners

  • The number of Correct responses

  • The number of Incorrect responses

  • Correct Confident and Incorrect Confident responses, if 'Betting' is enabled

The visual indicators make it easier to compare question performance and identify trends across an assessment, providing a more intuitive and consistent reporting experience.

Selecting a question opens a detailed list of individual learner responses. Incorrect answers are shown first, making it easier to review where learners may be struggling and identify areas that could benefit from additional guidance or improvements to the learning content.

You can:

  • Use filters to refine the results.

  • Sort or reorder the data.

  • Switch between table or grid view.

  • Download the information for further analysis.

Objective-level performance insights

If your assessment includes objectives, each one has its own detailed analytic view. This section helps you understand performance at a more structured level.

Within the objective view, you can:

  • See how many learners passed each objective.

  • See how many learners failed each objective.

  • Review how responses are distributed across each objective.

This makes it easier to identify strengths, gaps and trends across your learners.

Tips

  • Use filters to focus on particular groups or areas you want to review more closely.

  • Combine question and objective views for a fuller understanding of learner performance.

  • Download reports if you need to share or reuse the data elsewhere.

Limitations

Note: Assessment data is only shown for learners who have completed or attempted the assessment. Incomplete attempts may not appear in all views.
