Senior Manager Register: Full Overview of Users

This article explains the full Senior Manager view within the SMCR Register. From this screen you can review Senior Manager details, issue Statements of Responsibilities, review Declarations, access Training and Policy records, and upload internal documentation.

Each section below outlines what you can view and manage within each tab.

Profile Tab

The Profile tab displays all attributes held in the system for the Senior Manager.

These are read-only except for:

  • The IRN number

  • The Non-Executive Director (NED) checkbox

If your organisation uses automated data feeds, you may not be able to update the IRN number here. Any change should instead be made within your provisioning feed.

At the bottom of this page, you can also remove a Senior Manager from the register by selecting Remove from register.

To access this tab:

  • Go to the SMCR Register

  • Select the relevant Senior Manager

  • Select the Managers tab


Statement of Responsibilities

This section provides a full view of all Statements of Responsibilities issued to the Senior Manager, including statuses such as Issued, Accepted and Rejected.

Within this tab you can:

  • Review all historic and current Statements

  • View all responsibilities mapped to the Senior Manager

  • Create a draft version of a new Statement

  • Issue a new Statement of Responsibilities

Before issuing a new version, supplementary information can be entered which will appear on the issued Statement. You can save changes as a draft, or select Issue Statement of Responsibilities to release it.

Once issued, the Senior Manager receives an email notification prompting them to accept or reject the Statement.


Declarations Tab

The Declarations tab displays all Fit and Proper Questionnaire submissions and Conflicts Manager submissions completed by the Senior Manager.

Here you can:

  • View each declaration in full

  • Review any open alerts

  • Add comments

  • Close alerts where appropriate

To access this tab:

  • Go to the SMCR Register

  • Select the Managers tab

  • Select the relevant Senior Manager


Training Tab

The Training tab shows all training activity for the Senior Manager. This includes:

  • E-learning

  • Offline activities

  • Structured learning such as CPD

You can sort columns, search records, and select any training item to view full details including certificates.

To access this tab:

  • Go to the SMCR Register

  • Select the Managers tab

  • Select the relevant Senior Manager


Policies Tab

The Policies tab displays all policy assignments for the Senior Manager, including statuses such as Viewed and Attested.

You can:

  • Search policy records

  • Navigate through pages

  • Select an item to view full policy details and certificates


My Submissions

This tab shows Compliance Register submissions made by the Senior Manager. An example includes the Gifts and Hospitality Register.

You can:

  • Open any submission

  • Review full details

  • View comments made by approvers or the Senior Manager

To access this tab:

  • Go to the SMCR Register

  • Select the relevant Senior Manager

  • Select the Managers tab


Additional Information

The Additional Information tab allows you to upload internal documents, such as credit check results, and record comments against the Senior Manager.

Managing Files

Within this tab, you can:

  • Add new files using Add file

  • Provide a name, description and category

  • Upload the chosen file

  • View and update file details

Files cannot be deleted once uploaded, but you can use comments or the description field to note any updates or issues.

Managing Comments

You can add new comments using Add comment, then enter a subject and comment text.
Comments cannot be deleted once created, but they can be updated.
