Duplicating an existing module or modifying an off-the-shelf module is a lot easier than building a course from scratch. A blank “new course” canvas is difficult to approach compared to something pre-existing that you can improve/customise/fully change to your needs and liking.
Both when duplicating an existing module and building a new module, you will need to speak to your Customer Success Manager (CSM) before you build pages or edit content so that they can ensure that everything is set up correctly.
Duplicating a module:
1. Find the module you want to duplicate. You can follow the steps listed in the article about Finding a module.
2. Once you have found and opened a module you want to duplicate, take notice of which content domain and skin are being used for this module. You can find it on the module Properties page.
The content domain is at the start of the page, and the skin is a little lower down the page.
3. On the right side of the Properties page, select Duplicate.
3. Insert a new distinctive code (remember that only you can see this, and the users cannot).
Unless different settings are required, select the same content domain and the same skin as on the module Properties page (step 2), and click on the copy button.
Should you have any local copies of this module, a list of them will be visible on this screen as well. If there are no copies, this list will not appear at all.
4. You will be taken to the new module. You now need to contact your CSM so that they can make sure all properties are correct. They will let you know when you can start making changes to your module.
