Introduction
Duplicating a module allows you to customise pre-existing content, saving you time and effort compared to building from scratch. This guide will show you how to create a local copy of a module, so you can adapt it to your needs and preferences.
What Does "Duplicating a Module" Mean?
Duplicating a module means making a local copy of an existing module in your LMS. This lets you customise the content, settings, and appearance without affecting the original. It is especially useful if you want to tailor modules to your organisation.
Step-by-Step Instructions
To duplicate a module:
Find the module you want to duplicate.
Make a note of the Domain being used.
Select Duplicate in the Module sidebar.
Enter a new code (this is not visible to end users).
Select the same content domain as the original module (unless you require different settings).
Select the relevant Skin.
Tick the Create Learning Path box if you intend to roll this out to users.
Select the Copy button to make a local duplicate. Any other local copies will appear in the list.
Tips
Preview Changes: Before publishing, review your local copy to ensure all customisations are correct.
Learning Path: If you want to add your module to a learning path, use the "Create Learning Path" option during duplication.
