Copying and pasting elements

Updated this week

You can copy and paste individual elements or entire pages within the same page, across pages, or even between different modules. This helps you build content quickly without needing to recreate layouts or components from scratch.

How to copy and paste a page

  • Open the page containing the element you want to copy

  • Select the Copy button on the yellow page element

  • To paste the copied page between two pages, scroll to the bottom of the page where you want the new page to appear and select the Paste button

This will insert an identical copy of the page, including all its elements and layout.

How to copy and paste an element

  • Find the element you want to copy and select the Copy button

  • Navigate to the page where you want to paste the element and select Paste

  • Review the details of the pasted element. The Position dropdown determines where the element will appear in the list of items on the page

  • The number assigned represents the element’s order on the page. For example, choosing 10 places it as the tenth element

  • Select Add when you're ready

How to rearrange the order of elements

  • Use the Up and Down buttons on an element to move it higher or lower on the page

  • These controls let you quickly reorganise content without needing to copy and paste repeatedly

After making your edits

When you’re finished updating your module, remember to follow your usual publish or update steps so learners can access the latest version.
