View as learner

Updated over 4 months ago

This article explains how to preview the module you are editing. Kindly note that you need Edit content permission to access the Content editor.

Viewing the module as a learner allows us to test it in two important ways: immediately after we make a change to a page and once we are ready to perform a final quality assurance test before the module goes live to users.

If you do not have access to this view as learner button, kindly speak to your Customer success manager, who will be able to give you the permissions you require.

Reviewing the module immediately after making a change

Resuming the current attempt allows you to continue the test from the last page you were viewing. You will be able to jump across visited pages without having to start from the first page. We suggest this test while you are actively making changes. You will need to close and reopen the View as learner tab after every new change. Refreshing the page may not be enough to view your new changes.

1. On the right side of the page, select View as learner (language).

2. Select Resume current attempt.

Reviewing the module as a new learner (for quality assurance)

Starting a new attempt allows you to start viewing the module from the very first page, as if you were a new user. You will not be able to jump from one page to another until you view those pages.

It is important to do this test before the module goes live to users. It ensures the learners can go through the entire module.

1. On the right side of the page, select View as learner (language).

2. Select Start new attempt.

Reviewing the module with translations

Before selecting View as learner link, please set your portal language to the one you wish to preview.

If you need to preview all translations at once, you can use the View as learner (All enabled languages) button on the Properties page.

You can preview the disabled languages by setting the required portal language and selecting View as learner (language) link on the right-hand side. You can also use View as learner links next to each language. Like the View as learner (language) link on the right-hand side, these links will open the module in the selected language only.

NOTE: If you think you have the incorrect permissions, please contact your company admin or Customer Success Manager at [email protected]
