We build the content using elements. There is a variety of elements for text, interactive activities and exercises. Each element has its Properties, where we can define how much horizontal space it should take by adjusting the Block width.
Kindly note that you need Edit content permission to access the Content editor.
Content width
For the adjacent content elements to appear next to each other in the Module's stage, their widths must add up to 100%. If the sum is higher than 100%, the elements will appear below one another.
Example of 50% and 50% width content elements:
Example of 70% and 50% width content elements:
Content container
A Content container element acts as a "bucket" for the other content elements. When you add a Content container, any elements added after it fills up the Content container's width instead of the Module's stage width. To close the Content container, we must add the Close Container element.
The Content container is meant to contain more than one element. Use the regular content width setting for single elements as illustrated in the section above.
NOTE: Empty Content containers will lead to errors in your Module, so when deleting content, make sure to remove the Content container as well. If a page is not looking as expected, check the Content Editor if there is an empty Content container at the bottom of the page.
See below how the content looks now when it is wrapped within the 50% width Content container and Close Container elements.
Below is an example of three 100% width elements, where only two of them are in a 50% width Content container. Notice that the content element added after the Close Container element is now taking 100% of the Module's stage width.
If the last element is set to 50% width or less, it will appear on the right of the elements in the Content container.
One of the practical examples is having text and an image on one side in a Content container and an exercise or an interactive activity on the other side of the screen.
Here, in the Content Editor, elements are set up like this:
Content container - 50% width
Text element containing text - 100% width
Text element containing an image - 100% width
Close Container
Multiple Choice Question - 50% width
Multiple Content containers
If you need more than one Content container, only the last one has to be closed using the Close Container element. For example:
Content container - 50% width
