If a user has reached the assessment attempt limit for a training module, you can increase their attempt limit so they can try again. To do this, you must have the appropriate permissions.
It is important to note that the Update attempt limit field requires you to enter the new total attempt limit, not the number of additional attempts you want to grant.
Grant Additional Attempts
To increase the attempt limit for a user:
Navigate to Management Console > User Management.
Search for the user and open their account.
Select Training records from the Edit user sidebar.
Select the failed module.
Scroll to Update attempt limit.
Enter the new total attempt limit.
Select Update attempt limit to save the change.
Understanding the Attempt Limit
The value entered must be the user's new total attempt limit.
Current attempt limit | Additional attempts required | Value to enter |
3 | 1 | 4 |
3 | 2 | 5 |
3 | 3 | 6 |
For example, if a module has a default attempt limit of 3 and you want to give the user 1 additional attempt, enter 4 as the new limit.
Tips
Check the user's current attempt limit before updating it.
Ensure you enter the new total limit rather than the number of additional attempts required.
Review the updated record after saving to confirm the change has been applied correctly.
Note: Additional attempts cannot be granted in bulk. You must update each user's attempt limit individually for each module.
