Adding elements to translated Learning Path and Module

When working with Learning Paths or Modules that have been translated, it is important to keep the number and structure of elements consistent across all languages. This prevents errors, ensures a smooth learner experience, and keeps reporting accurate. This article explains how element management works in translated Learning Paths and Modules.

Adding New Elements

You can only add, copy, or paste elements in the English version of a Learning Path or Module. If translations already exist, any element you add in English will automatically appear in all translated versions.

This behaviour ensures every version of the content contains the same number of elements, keeping them aligned.

Restrictions in Translated Versions

When you switch to a translated version of the Learning Path or Module:

  • You will not be able to add new elements

  • You will not be able to copy or paste existing elements

  • You can still move or delete an element if needed

If you move or delete an element in any language version, it will be moved or deleted for all versions, including English. This prevents mismatches that could affect learner progress or reporting.

Why These Restrictions Exist

The system prevents structural differences between language versions. Consistent structure ensures:

  • All learners receive the same content

  • Progress-tracking and bookmarking work correctly

  • Reporting remains accurate across all languages
