Adding keywords to a learning path

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Each learning path already includes a title and description that can be searched by users. Search results will also include matches found within activity titles and any text elements in the learning path. However, you may want to add additional keyword terms to help users find the most relevant learning paths more easily. Adding keywords ensures that related search terms return accurate and helpful results.

Adding keywords to a learning path

  1. Click on Management Console at the top of your homepage.

  2. Select Content Management from the right-hand-side menu.

  3. Use the search form to find an existing learning path. You can enter a keyword or select a domain and click Search to view all learning paths in that domain.

  4. Click on the learning path code you want to update, or choose Add a new Learning Path if you are creating a new one.

  5. On the Properties page, locate the Keywords field.

  6. Enter additional search terms separated by commas or spaces.

  7. When you are happy with your keywords, click Update.

Tips and troubleshooting

  • Use keywords that reflect common user search behaviour.

  • Include variations or synonyms for your course topics where appropriate.

  • Avoid adding too many keywords, as this can reduce search accuracy.

Limitations

Note: Keywords supplement but do not replace the importance of clear learning path titles and descriptions.
