What is Two-Factor Authentication

Find out how and where 2FA adds a layer of security to your logins and Skillcast access.

Updated over 2 months ago

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra step and security layer for user logins.

With Skillcast, this means the user enters their username and password. They then enter a six-digit One-Time Passcode (OTP) sent to their email address. The OTP is valid for a limited time, to reduce the risk of unauthorised logins.

Ways that 2FA can be configured

  • As soon as users login to the portal

  • When users with administrator permissions try to access the Management Console

  • Based on the domains in your portal
