Using an off-the-shelf module? You may want to edit an existing assessment
This guide will walk you through the steps to add an assessment to your module in the LMS. Whether you're editing an existing module or building one from scratch, these instructions will help you create effective assessments that support your learners' progress.
What Is an Assessment and Why Add One?
An assessment is a set of questions that helps you measure learners' understanding of your module's content. Most off-the-shelf modules already include an assessment. If you're creating a module from scratch, you'll need to add one yourself. Assessments help reinforce learning and provide valuable feedback to both you and your learners.
Before You Start
You need Edit content permission to access the Content editor.
If you haven't created a module yet, see the article on creating a new module.

Tips and Troubleshooting
Preview your assessment: Before publishing, review all questions and settings to ensure accuracy.
Organise by topic: Use multiple Question Banks to group questions by theme or scenario.
Case statements: If using a case statement, ensure all related questions are grouped together.
Limitations
Note:
If creating a new module from scratch, you must include a welcome page because a module cannot consist of assessments only. You can add this by following the article on Module Templates.
You must have the correct permissions to edit content. If you're unable to access the Content editor, contact your Customer Success Manager via the help icon on your portal or email [email protected].
The Failed message only appears if you set an attempt limit for the assessment.
What Next?
Once you’ve finished adding or editing your assessment, refer to the article What do I do when I finish creating or editing my module? for guidance on publishing or further actions. If you need help, select "Send us a message" via the help icon on your portal or email [email protected].
