Skillcast offers modules in two different layouts. This article shows the difference between the two.
Whichever layout you choose, the module's appearance can be customised to your brand guidelines. We can change fonts, colours, icons, backgrounds, and more. The visual design or appearance of a module is also called "skin". A skin can be applied to multiple modules, but it is also possible to have two modules with the same layout but each with a different skin, e.g., one with a background image and another without.
West-East module layout
This is a classic module layout that resembles PowerPoint.
The content can be organised into sections with the main pages and its sub-pages, and each is shown one at a time. The module's structure can be seen in the contents menu and the progress bar below the content stage.
An employee must complete all mandatory activities before they can progress to the next page or sub-page, but they can always go back to the visited content by using the Back button, contents menu or progress bar.
Scrolling module layout
Scrolling modules consist of pages that often contain multiple scrolling sections. Here, all scrolling sections are added one after another on the same page.
An employee must complete all mandatory activities before they can progress to the next page or scrolling section. To revisit content, employees can scroll the page or use the contents menu by selecting a page or a section.
