This article shows how to exempt individual assignments, so users can stay within audience rules for completing all other training.

Permissions needed:

  • User management

  • Exempt users from Learning Path assignments

When to exempt users: Example scenario

You may be using audience groups to assign mandatory content automatically using a rule set.

A user in an audience group may no longer be able, or need, to complete a Learning Path that's been assigned. Maybe they can't complete a physical activity, or perhaps they're on a support plan and should be exempted from specific training.

1. Select Management Console > User management and search for the user/s

2. Select Exemptions in the Edit user sidebar

3. Tick the box next to each exempted Learning Path, and select the Save exemptions button

4. A pop-up appears for you to either enter the reason for exemption or choose one of the preset answers (speak to your Customer Success Manager about which of these options to use)

5. Select Save to exempt the user. This means:

  • The assignment won't be visible to the user next time they login

  • The assignment won't be visible to admins in Management information reports, but will be visible in the individual user assignments page and on the My team page

  • Only admins with exemption permissions can view reasons for exemption

That's how to exempt users. If things change for the user, you can remove the exempted Learning Path.
