How to progress in a module

This article shows how to progress through a module, and how to return to already-visited module content.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Skillcast offers modules in two layouts: West-East and Scrolling.

Both offer the same functionality and are designed so that users must complete a given activity before they can progress to the next section.

That’s why the Next or Continue buttons are hidden until the activity is completed. User instructions will appear next to an activity, explaining how to progress. After completing an activity, users can still return to the section by using the Next and Back buttons.

Skillcast remembers a user’s progress. So if they close a module, they can reopen and continue at the same stage.

West-East modules

These have columns, often combining different elements. For example, an image on the left and explanatory text on the right. Next and Back arrow buttons appear at each side:

Scrolling modules

These have one main column with a menu sidebar.

After completing the activity and selecting the Submit button, users can either select the:

  • Next button to progress to the next page

Scroll or select the section title to jump to its section or page.
